Extremely rare – I have never seen a rectangle one like this. This beautiful sterling silver overlay ring was made by Hopi artist Hubert Taylor. The traditional maze pattern is one seen throughout Hopi jewelry usually on a round/oval shape. The workmanship is superb and you will not be disappointed. It is one of my favorite rings, and is very comfortable to wear. I receive lots of compliments every time I wear it. Weighs nearly 7 grams. This ring is in excellent used condition. Don’t be afraid to submit an offer. If I think it’s too low, I will send a counter offer, not an attitude. (I do have the auto deny filter on, so if it’s uber low, I’ll never see it). Herbert Taylor Sterling Silver Belt Buckle. Fits a 1 wide belt. Old pawn/estate american indian silver. The silver weighs a little over 100 grams. The buckle shows moderate signs of wear, with several somewhat deep scuffs/scrapes. I’m including the leather belt that this came with, but I have separated the belt from the buckle for photography, plus the leather belt is in fair condition at best, and is probably due for replacement or refurbishing. I attempted to treat it with some products I have on hand, but it did little to improve the appearance. The belt measures 40 from the farthest notch to the buckle. The belt has various cracks, stains, and even a dent of sorts. The snaps that hold the buckle in place don’t hold very firmly. I’ll let the craftwork and design of the buckle speak for itself. The artist, Herbert Taylor, was a master at his craft, and an award-winning silversmith. He died in 1996 at the young age of 36. Because his life was cut short, his pieces are quite rare. Taylor has won many awards- at places such as the Santa Fe Indian Market, the Heard Museum, and the Gallup Ceremonial- including Best of Show.
