What a great message this SUPER RARE vintage Pendleton blanket coat has! “Keep My Fires Burning” by telling and retelling our stories. This amazing blanket coat is reversible, but I love the way it looks as I’m showing it in the photos. Pointing to sky and telling their stories was the Native American way and it is a beautiful tribute to Native Peoples. When I bought it years ago, they gave me the tag for it since I couldn’t decide where I wanted to put it, and just never put it on the coat, so now you can put it wherever you want to. I don’t know that any more were made like this one, and I certainly have never seen another and I collect Pendleton blanket coats, which is why I decided it’s time for someone else to enjoy this great piece. Back when I bought this, they didn’t really size the coats, they sized you, haha, and then made it for you. I’d say this is a small to possibly a small/medium with approximate measurements of armpit to armpit 22″, length 43″, sleeves not cuffed 24″, dropped shoulders 18″. I’m petite, so it was made a little shorter than most Pendleton coats, which are notoriously long!! It is in wonderful pre-loved condition, save a few small little nibble marks, which are not really noticeable. I’ve used a colored Sharpie on my other Pendleton coats that have unavoidably gotten a few nibbles and you can’t even notice it, but I’ve shown a photo of where there is a little nibble. It can be easily covered up and I’ll leave that to it’s new owner to decide whether or not that is necessary. Otherwise, the coat is in amazing condition with very vibrant colors.
