This product is a pair of Native American handmade earrings made of sterling silver. The earrings feature triangular-shaped Lander Blue turquoise and jet stones set in bezels. The studs are blue and Black in color and have a regional and ethnic Native American style. The earrings are made of sterling metal purity of 925. The earrings are made in the United States and are pierced. The Lander Blue is RARE and valued higher than other Turquoise in general. These earrings have been beautifully handmade.
The superb stone is characteristic of material from the LANDER mine in Nevada (or possibly the Lone Mountain mine). 1 1/8″ long x 7/8″ wide; the six (6) band shank is approx. 3/4″ tapering to 3/16″ wide.
Old Lander Blue Turquoise Vintage Sterling Silver Native American Ring. Lander Blue is almost entirely spider-webbed turquoise with colors from medium to deep blue and black contrasting matrix. Only 90 to 110 pounds of the beautiful spider web was mined and was a’hat mine’ because you could cover it with a hat. Condition is Vintage Pre-owned. This is an amazing vintage 1975 signed Navajo sterling silver Lander Blue turquoise ring. This ring features a fabulous bezel-set approximately 20-carat piece of rare natural Nevada Lander Blue turquoise surrounded by beautiful applique silverwork. The wide band also has applique feathers on each side. The inside of the ring is double stamped by “EH” for Elgin Hoskey and a “Crown with a K” for Keith Turner of Gallup, NM. Marked as sterling silver. Additional Info: This belt came from the Yoder collection. Barbara Yoder was a well-known and respected dealer of Native arts and jewelry. Her and her husband (the former Jerry Egeland) were original investors in the Lander Blue claim in the early 1970s. They took their payback in the form of turquoise, and as such, amassed one of the largest private collections of real Landers. Some of their Lander collection was featured in the book, Turquoise, The Gem of the Centuries, by Oscar T. Branson, published in 1975. The Yoder (Egeland) turquoise was featured on P. Their collection is well known as being authentic Lander Blue turquoise. As additional provenance, Bob Brucia, current owner of the Lander Blue claim, and recognized Lander Blue authority, has also independently inspected this belt and signed a certificate of authenticity.
