Very unique rare piece from Clark co. This product is a rare engraved pipe featuring the phrase “HANDLED” from a Native American tribe known as the Adena in Clark County, Ohio. The pipe is a piece of history from the Adena culture, shedding light on the art and craftsmanship of the Mississippian period. This artifact provides a unique glimpse into the cultural significance and craftsmanship of the Adena tribe.
Amazing Engraved Discoidal found at the Fox Field Site a long time ago. Nicely engraved “X” on both sides. Deeply cupped on both sides as well with a nice large central perforation. Very well shaped and polished out of a fine grained sandstone. This is among the best examples I’ve seen from this site. Also comes with a Roy Motley COA for peace of mind, but is a real no brainer ancient artifact with great Patina.
Early Rare Mississippian Artifact Clay Mound Dwarf Figure. The Mississippian Culture, a Native American civilization flourished from approx. In the Midwestern, Eastern and Southeastern United States. The people were known for building earthen platform mounds and pottery. They made items without decoration such as jars, bowls, and platters but they also made effigies. This artifact measures approx. 6 in height and seems to be in very good condition for its age. Please look closely at all photos (note the chipped crown in photo #5) as they illustrate condition which is good but not perfect!
C e l es ti a l N o n e s u ch. A gorgeous, and massive stone effigy head pipe, carved out of a translucent material, presumably either Quartz or Alabaster. This wonderful piece has a top knot, an ear spool and a side braid. The face is decorated with weeping eyes. Some writing and an old inventory sticker on the bottom. A great object for study or display, this will make a nice addition to any student or appreciators collection of Native American art and artifacts.
