Background: She spent years researching the transition of these dolls from traditional tribal playthings to sought-after items for the Florida tourist trade c. The Book: Her 2008 book is considered a definitive guide for collectors because she meticulously documented the differences between “tourist” dolls and those made for internal tribal use, often citing specific makers and historical periods.
