This much loved, though very rare, Dry Creek turquoise is known for it’s pale aqua “sea-mist” color featuring generous amounts of cocoa brown color matrix. Vintage Zuni Native American Turquoise Belt Buckle RARE GORGEOUS MINT

This listing is for a vintage Zuni hand made belt buckle, made of solid sterling silver and turquoise. This is a very rare belt buckle being made with TONS of petite point turquoise stones. It was made with a very thick and hearty slab of silver that measures 3 wide by 2 tall. Every single stone is in MINT condition. The Artist arranged the stones in alternating rows, where they lay horizontal and vertical. With their bright blue/green color hues and very light matrixes, they pop out of their sawtooth bezels ever so slightly. Below the stones the silver has tarnished and created a lovely patina making the stones pop even more. Its a simple design yet, looks like it was very tedious work. To finish the design the outer edge of the buckle was adorned with silver droplets between each row of stones. This buckle is older dating back to the later mid-century (70s-80s). Although its a vintage piece it has a very modernized look. This is a very special piece that is not only a work of Art but also a tangible asset. Add this buckle to your existing Native American jewelry collection or let it be the first piece to the one youve always wanted. Cherish and enjoy this gorgeous buckle today….. Description: This rare, gorgeous certified Lander Blue turquoise & sterling silver concho belt features conchos that have a cluster of 7 small Lander Blue turquoise cabochons surrounded by hand stamped sterling silver all created by the known Navajo artist, Thomas Jim. Marked as sterling silver. Additional Info: This belt came from the Yoder collection. Barbara Yoder was a well-known and respected dealer of Native arts and jewelry. Her and her husband (the former Jerry Egeland) were original investors in the Lander Blue claim in the early 1970s. They took their payback in the form of turquoise, and as such, amassed one of the largest private collections of real Landers. Some of their Lander collection was featured in the book, Turquoise, The Gem of the Centuries, by Oscar T. Branson, published in 1975. The Yoder (Egeland) turquoise was featured on P. Their collection is well known as being authentic Lander Blue turquoise. As additional provenance, Bob Brucia, current owner of the Lander Blue claim, and recognized Lander Blue authority, has also independently inspected this belt and signed a certificate of authenticity. Maker: Thomas Jim, Navajo. Age: Late 1970s – early 1980s. Size: Conchos measure 2″ wide 1-1/2″. Belt is 36-1/2 long overall. Weight is 262.5 g.
