A uniquely rare and authentic vintage Native American handmade basket, measuring an amazing 17″inches wide x 8″ tall, featuring original woven bark, natural vine wrapping, and an accent of genuine rabbit fur, approximately 6″ x 8 “. This large and tactile piece displays traditional handcrafting techniques likely associated with Plains or Southwestern tribes, using native materials such as plant fiber, bark, vine, and hide. The base and sides are made from coarsely stitched bark or palm fiber, secured with natural twine or root vine, and the rabbit fur patch suggests ceremonial or winter utility, possibly for food gathering, cradleboard insulation, or spiritual offering use. Handmade using natural, untreated native materials. Constructed with coiled plant fiber or bark. Bound with vine or root fiber cordage.
