Vintage Native American Royston Turquoise Sterling Silver Cuff Bracelet. Authentic Rare Royston Turquoise. Incredible Rare Piece of Exceptional Quality and Beauty. This early handmade Navajo bracelet is highly detailed and crafted with excellent quality. It features a large magnificent intense blue- green Royston Turquoise gem. The gem grade Turquoise has lovely golden brown spiderweb matrix aganist intense tones of blues and greens with a striking high polish finish. This is due to the hardness of rare natural Royston turquoise gems that can undergo a high polish finish. Thick hand applied rope twist surrounds the entire base of the smooth edge bezel in which the stone is set. Feather leaf blossoms and bold silver beads are applied around the entire top. The shank splits in four sturdy bars to safely support the large heavy artistic face setting. The Turquoise is smooth and polished with no cracks or chips. A striking and authentic early Native American bracelet of quality and beauty all around. Weighs 92.5 grams. Inner Circumerence of 5 1/4 inches with an extra 1 1/2 inch gap. (will adjust to most wrists). Face is about 3 inches long × 2 1/2 inches wide. Turquoise is 2 inches North to South × 1 3/4 inches East to West. Tested Positive for 925 Sterling Silver. The Turquoise Miner most often finds Royston Turquoise in what looks like veins in the host rock (Ryolite), which has to be skillfully removed by many techniques. Miners Picks to heavy equipment and even dynamite are use to extract large rock with Turquoise veins. Once the bulk rock is extracted, Turquoise gemstone cutters saw the veins out of larger rocks called “saw rock” to refine the Turquoise into cutable slabs. There is quite a process to cut Royston Turquoise into gemstones such as the ones you see on this page. Note the shank has some wear, bents and scratches due to possible use and age, however is is still in shape and fits like a glove. He began creating his own unique style 3 years ago, his jewelry exhibits beautiful old style techniques with an amazing contemporary flare. Handmade by Navajo artist Derrick Cadman. This is a sterling silver handmade Navajo eagle pendant with a natural, rare Royston Turquoise stone. The stone is a green color a red/brown matrix. The stone sits in a hand cut stamped bezel with a rope of silver at the base. The silver work for this piece is amazing. Derrick cut and hand stamped the entire pendant with feathers and repousse bump outs, he gave this bracelet further depth by adding hand stamped feather shapes to the wings. This pendant measures 2-9/16 inch from top bale to bottom and is 2-3/4 inch at widest point. The bale has a 1/2 inch diameter, and the stone measures 3/4 inch by 1/2 inch. Weighs 32.7 grams. This little box is a heavy 81.9 grams. A rare Navajo or Hopi box. Native Americans rarely made boxes and they rarely come up for sale. Please see pictures for signatures. Signed in script and block M although I have not been able to trace the maker. It also has a star imprint on the right dome. The left dome has been scored by the artist. The leaf closure leads me to believe it may be from the 50s or 70s when leafs were popular. 2&5/8″ across, 2″ from hinge to tip of leaf & 1 deep from top of cabochon. Royston Turquoise stone is 3/4 ” long & 1/2 ” wide. Any imperfections are due only to the glare. Small surface scratches due to age. Closes and opens nicely. Please watch for my other listings.
