A rare, large, and hard to find authentic Apache Gourd canteen for water storage with hand carved wooden plug or stopper. Large size measures: 17 inches tall x 11 inches x 9 inches. I bought this in person in Arizona 40 years ago from an elderly gentleman who’s father had run aa trading post. Old red, white, and blue trade beads. Looks like old tree resin wrapped around base of neck section to waterproof and strengthen; maybe some type of old cord with resin covering it. Remarkable to still find intact.
