Kodiak Flute: PREMIUM LINE: All exotic woods. (Wenge main body, South American Blackheart Totem) approximately 24 long with a 7/8 Bore in Key of F#. It features Black w/Gold Matrix Tru-Stone Inserts on Slow Air Chamber and Foot of flute. They are capped off on the end with Real Desert Ironwood. Deer Skin Lace is used to secure the totem. Premium Line features a Hand Rubbed 4 layer finish. Polymerized linseed oil and beeswax-is an excellent choice for Native American Flutes because it is safe, eco-friendly, and provides a natural, matte sheen that enhances the wood without clogging pores. Safety: It is completely food-safe and skin-safe, which is critical for an instrument that is played with the mouth. Wood Movement: As a penetrating oil, it allows the wood to breathe, which is essential for flutes made of Wenge or other woods that expand/contract with moisture (the “wetting out” process). Natural Feel: It does not create a plastic-like coating, keeping the wood feeling natural to the touch. The inside chambers are sealed with water based poly. Wenge is extremely hard wood and produces a bright tone. It is difficult to work with and many makers avoid it due to the complexities. NOTE: We have some clients request our logos and key engraved on the flute while others prefer it not be on the body. If you would like it branded we will do this for you at no extra charge, just send us a message to request. We don’t do the final coat of finish until we have received your preference so the branding is also properly protected. This flute has our logo and key engraved on will be engraved on the bottom of the flute under the Totem Strap. Take a look at images for the exact item you will receive. It takes about 3 weeks for each custom premium flute to be crafted. The hand rubbed finish must be applied and allowed to set between coats. Real Exotic Wenge Wood for flute body. Note: Since this is a premium hand rubbed exterior finish occasionally applying a food safe mineral oil or something like Tried & True on it can assist with maintaining the finish longer term. This is a Zuni fetish carving made of ELK antler and turquoise stones. Rare hand carved twin corn maiden kachinas. This piece of Native American Southwestern art was hand made by Zuni artist Carl Etsate, a member of the world-famous family of carvers. Measures 5 inches tall Kachin and Corn maiden 3.5 inches tall X 4.5 inches base circumference. Zuni fetishes are small carvings made from primarily stone but also shell, fossils, and other materials by the Zuni people. Within the Zuni community, these carvings serve ceremonial purposes for their creators and depict animals and icons integral to their culture. Prior to the establishment of a non-Native market for fetishes, Hopi, Navajo, and other Pueblo peoples, especially at Kewa Pueblo also carved and used fetishes.

It is a totem animal hand crafted in gemstones that is really quite remarkable. There is a striking contrast of blue turquoise along with sky blue opal then contrasted with blood red carnelian set-in jet-black onyx with a flower accent in some kind of shell or pearl. The setting is sterling silver 925 and has a nice weight (not hollow but old school very well made) 14.4 grams and approximately 12 carats of gemstones. It is so thoughtfully made that even the bail has gemstones covering all the way around to the back. Set in sterling silver 925 and in excellent condition with not cracks or flaws of any kind. Well-loved and well taken care of, the only real sign of its age is the patina on the silver that we could buff out if you want us to. We left the cool patina out of respect but that would be your choice to make. 2″ long by 1.3/4″ wide, this is a One-of-a-Kind piece that we know you’ll love. We’ll send it in a gift box along with care instructions for the gemstones.
